Youth Ministries

While the adults are worshiping in the main auditorium, the children have a worship service with singing, preaching, object lessons, Bible verses, videos, and contests. It is a lot of fun and rewarding. More than sixty workers are faithful to minister on a rotating schedule. Junior church is for students in grades 1 through 6 and is available to both the children brought in on the buses and to our church family. The beginner church leaders minister to the four and five year olds.

Every week there is some "surprise element" in the program for the children and many go home with candy and special rewards. The most important part of the service is the invitation after Mr. Kammerer or Mr. Jezowski speak. This year we have seen growth in the individual lives of the children.

Awana is an international, Bible-centered children's and youth ministry providing local churches with weekly clubs and programs for preschool through high school. Our goal is to equip churches to reach children and teenagers, and their families, with the gospel of Christ and train them to serve Him. The acronym Awana comes from the first letters of Approved Workmen Are Not Ashamed, taken from 2 Timothy 2:15.

Awana began in 1950 as a youth program at the North Side Gospel Center in Chicago, Illinois. Lance Latham, the church pastor, worked with Art Rorheim to develop a program that would appeal to young people, reach them with the gospel and train them in the Lord's work. Other churches heard about the success of the Awana program and asked if they could use it. By 1960, Awana had registered 900 clubs.

Today, more than 10,400 churches in the United States run Awana. There are clubs in all 50 states. Awana can also be found in 3,200 churches in 109 other countries and six continents.

We invite you to join us and hundreds of other young people and adults who ride one of our 6 bus routes to church every Sunday. Grace Baptist Church bus ministry has been bringing children and adults to church for over 40 years. Our bus workers are dedicated to do everything possible to help you enjoy your ride to and from church.

Following church, your child will be assisted in finding their bus. We often have special treats, prizes, singing, and fun on the way home. A wonderful experience awaits everyone who rides our bus to church this week.

The purpose of the Grace Baptist Youth League is to provide a Christ honoring environment for our young people to participate in sports and to reach boys, girls and adults with the Gospel. The Grace Baptist Youth League will be operated independently by Grace Baptist Church. Registration is open to all members of Grace Baptist Church and students of Grace Christian School.

Unlike the other youth league programs that are offered at Grace, the basketball program will be offered to current 4th, 5th, and 6th graders only. Due to the limited age groups the teams will be co-ed and the number of teams and games will be solely dependent upon the number of participants.

A mandatory practice will be held January 22nd from 9:00am - 10:30am for team selection. All registrants will be provided the opportunity to play. All games will be played on Saturdays through the months of January, February and March. Times will be posted at a later date. The practices and games will not conflict with the AWANA games and practices. All the games and practices will be held in the gym at Grace.

Enjoying the turbulent years of adolescence starts with knowing Jesus Christ, and godly friends can add stability as teens mature and grow. Our individual departments are geared to the changing needs of each age group. Highlights include: summer camps, mission trips, sporting events, socials, and Bible studies.
